"Widow's Mite"

Widow's Mite
by Sarah L.
Jesus sat there watching,
As the rich cast their money in,
Giving much of their abundance,
Hoping to be seen of men.

Then along came a poor widow;
She had so little to give,
Yet she willingly gave all she had,
All that sufficed her to live.

Then Jesus took notice and said,
"She gave more than they all,
For she has given all she possessed,
Even though the amount seems small."

So let us learn to be like her,
Whatever may be the cost,
For we can never give Jesus enough,
For shedding His blood on the Cross.

Scripture:

Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said,
"I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more
into the treasury than all the others. They all gave
out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty,
put in everything--all she had to live on."
 Mark 12:43-44 (NIV)
