Fallen
Ah Sunrise ….. a treasure in Towers
on high; the hustle beneath them ….. the City, the lives. Peacefully
working, up where eagles fly; they never imagined, today they would die.

He’s traveling on business, She’s
going back home; She misses her children, He talks on the phone. Now in
the air, something’s terribly wrong; fate soon revealed, they would never see
home!

A crash….. ”oh dear God, what’s
happening here?”. Some run to escape, some frozen with fear; some jump for
their lives ….. but life is not there; they fall to their death, we cry in
despair!

Some try to remain so calm and
controlled, as officers run there, from usual patrol. With no fear for
their lives, the firemen rush in; it’s always a gamble ….. today they won’t
win.

The panic is rising, there’s
nowhere to go; what once seemed a fortress ….. is falling like
snow. Desperately searching ….. one breath, just one life; they dig and
they pray ….. all day and all night.

Time has passed by, they’re not
coming home; we’re left with a sorrow that we’ve never known. Their wives,
their husbands, their children all cry; the rest of us know that a lot more
has died.

Their numbers were many, that left
us that day; but something else died …. it was taken away. We took it for
granted, we’d be safe and sound; now Towers of steel are like dust on the
ground.

May we never forget what was taken
that day … remember each life that has faded away. The anger we feel, the
sorrow, the pain … will serve to remind us, they died not in
vain!
